So here we are. 15 hours, 2 planes, a few movies and a whole lotta honey roasted peanuts and we're in Minneapolis ready to set out on the US tour of the Gruffalo. Today was a day to get some key essentials sorted before heading out, we picked up the set (which is stunning and puts British set makers to shame), invested in a GPS, but most importantly we met our van.
Now for a tour such as this, the van is key, if the relationship between van and cast is not right then we may as well stay at home. I have known some vans in my time, some good, some not so but I am happy to report that first impressions of this 12 seater all American Ford are good. It has plugs for laptops, big massive cup holders for big massive cups, and generally seems like a nice place to spend several hundred hours. Oh and the set fits in it which always helps.
Other things we did of note- Alan tried a sloppy Joe, Anna had to pee a lot from free coke refills, Alex annoyed an American when he didn't know anything about "Soccer" and Karina used the pool.
So we're all good to go. We head off to Sheridan, Wyoming first thing and the tour will begin. The journey will take 2 days and en route we should see Mount Rushmore and lots of other mountains that don't have faces on them, but we won't hold that against them.
Keep checking back as we have internet all the way so the updates will keep coming.
See you later
Alan
